HMPC Haiti Mission 2010

Hamilton Mill Presbyterian Church had an opportunity to put our faith into action and implement our mission statement -"to reconnect people to Christ, the Church Community, and God's world." by traveling to Haiti, the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere in June 2010

Goals reached while in Haiti:

• Engaged in conversation with Haitiens to connect to God
• Participated as volunteers by working with children and adults in medical mobile clinics
• Observed staff from the Childrens Nutrition Program and Center for Disease Control
• Increased personal awareness of the needs of the Haitiens in a third world country
• Described "culture shock" and coping skills necessary for a beneficial experience
• Shared personal "stories" with our Hamilton Mill Church family
