A recent Pew Foundation study showed that 70% of Americans today say that they have experienced job or financial-related stress in their lives just this year. That means, that almost 3 out of 4 of us are worried or anxious about money and finances much of the time. But God doesn't want us to live life with stress like that. Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly" ( John 10.10). God's word can bring hope, practical wisdom, and sanity to our often pressured and fearful approach to finances.

It is obvious that the church has changed. Fifty years ago, church congregations looked very different than they do today. The people looked different, the style of worship looked different, even the church buildings looked different. But the message has always been and is still the same. The message is of God's love for people through Jesus Christ and that anyone who comes to Christ will have a life of joy, hope and meaning through him. Maybe you've never joined the church; maybe you've been put off by sins of the church: judgment, unkindness, uncaring. But the Bible calls the church "the bride of Christ," and God has given the church a crucial role in his purpose and plan.
